Re: 20:19, 2004 Sep 18 Metabolome m (chg titles to piped alias to avoid 3rd party parsing prob)
I noticed that a 3rd party site (http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com) that uses Wikipedia data is not correctly displaying links with colons (:) within Wiki brackets; the text is suppressed or deleted, probably due to a parsing error. Other Wikipedia entries seem to avoid this problem by using piped aliases, which display correctly. This seems significant since so many book and article titles have colons in them.
See Wikipedia:Help_desk#Do_colons_break_wiki_links_on_3rd_party_sites.3F for more discussion. -- Metabolome 00:26, 2004 Sep 19 (UTC)
