editHi Gogo Dodo, I have now created the article on Wikipedia and recreating the Talk page. How do I repost my original message here?Techjazz (talk) 14:30, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
Hello Wikipedia editors, I propose that there should be a page for Sanju Bansal, the COO of MicroStrategy, as he meets Wikipedia notability guidelines. I am an employee of MicroStrategy and can help gather reliable third-party sources to create a useful Wikipedia entry. I would appreciate input from other editors and please feel free to discuss any changes to improve the page.Techjazz (talk) 14:51, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for disclosing your affiliation. Have you read Wikipedia's Conflict of interest guidelines? It's recommended that COI editors only make "non-controversial" edits, and best practice is to avoid creating new articles about COI subjects unless you create a draft first and get approval for it from an experienced non-COI editor, to make sure that your COI isn't interfering with being a constructive editor. I've been looking at MicroStrategy-related articles recently because I'm generally concerned about large amounts of apparent COI editing from MicroStrategy employees. Hello editors,
Firstly, I want to disclose my affiliation with the subject at hand. I am new an employee of MicroStrategy and will be watching MicroStrategy related pages with the intention of bringing attention to any misconduct, incorrect edits, or new company information (from 3rd sources of course). I understand Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines which is why I will not make any direct edits to this page or any pages related to MicroStrategy. I am simply here to ask for help from the editing community.
With that being said, I think there should be a picture of Sanju Bansal in this article. Most business people articles have photos. MicroStrategy owns a headshot photo and gives wikipedia the right to use it. The image is posted on our website under the about us section and is available for download so it may fall under fair-use license. We also use this photo in press-kits. I would greatly appreciate for someone to post this photo. If the available photo isn't good enough, I have a bigger image that I can email you. Or if you can't help in this way, can you point me to a talk page or editor help board where I can find volunteer help in this area?
Thank you, MSTR2013 (talk) 13:00, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
