Ranking
editRead this article for the first time today and it struck me that the bits that say "ranked 6th" etc in the info box are out of context so not at all clear. I'm guessing that this means "6th" out of all Austrian states in terms of population etc? It doesn't say what the ranking is of. Just a thought, as I spend a lot of time in wiki and this really was not clear BuzzWoof (talk) 13:28, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Arrangement of towns and districts in the gazetteer
editWould it be better to list the towns and cities by District (Bezirke), i.e. list each District and then list the towns within it? It would be less convenient for those searching alphabetically, but then only a tiny handful of the towns have their own articles anyway (this might be different in German Wikipedia). You might also have a better idea of what each District looks like. —— Shakescene (talk) 01:25, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Salzburg (state) → State of Salzburg – per WP:NATURALDIS. Ebonelm (talk) 20:45, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
- Support: nominator. Ebonelm (talk) 21:47, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose because it's not natural. English sources do not generally use the phrasing "State of X" for any Austrian states. Check the article's sources and links among others. — AjaxSmack 01:06, 18 July 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose per AjaxSmack and consistency with other states, such as Washington (U.S. state) and Georgia (U.S. state). ✉cookiemonster✉ 𝚨755𝛀 19:29, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose. The proposed form misleads the reader into thinking that it is common or official, when it is not. H. Humbert (talk) 10:19, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
