Good job so far on beginning the Saint Louis Art Museum Wikipedia page. Here are some comments and suggestions for this page:

  • I removed the list of contact telephone numbers. Remember that the Wikipedia is accessed internationally for general information. If people want phone numbers, they can click on an external link.
  • This page previously began with a general description of the Art Museum. Just below in the Introduction, some of the same information is repeated. Someone needs to edit the page to consolidate the repeated information.
  • The first major heading on the page is External Links. External links should be included toward the bottom of the page, not the top. Please note that further down on the page there are some external links (listed under "useful links.") Please combine all external links together into one list with an appropriate heading. The best place for external links is at the bottom of the Wikipedia page.
  • When combining these external links into one list, make certain that the links are consistent in format. Please also format them as a list and as links. Review Wikipedia:How_to_edit_a_page if you do not know how to do this.
  • Under Collection, the list of nine areas would look best formatted as an ordered (numbered) list. Review Wikipedia:How_to_edit_a_page to see how to do this.
  • I don't see a single Wikipedia link in the text written by students for this project. Please go through and place words that can lead to other Wikipedia entries between brackets. These are the types of words that should definitely have Wikipedia pages and need internal links:
  1. Years: 1906, 1916, etc.
  2. Georgraphic/Cultural Words: African, Oceania, etc.
  3. Types of Art: Photographs, Sculpture, etc.
  4. Names of Artists: Matisse, Picasso, etc.
  5. Other Key Nouns: library, docent, etc.
  • Double check the text that you have entered into your sections for this page. You are not allowed to copy or use any form of plagiarism to create a Wikipedia page. Plagiarism will result in the removal of your work from the Wikipedia. If any portion of your text may be considered plagiarized, re-write it in your own words or ask for assistance from someone to help you re-write it.
  • One person needs to go through and re-format the entire Wikipedia page to make sure that it "looks good." Although this is a group effort (like most Wikipedia pages), the end result should look consistent and match the quality and format of other Wikipedia pages.

If you have any questions, please contact me and let me know.
