Sagar District's Development
editPeople related to sagar district (and others too) can articulate their view here, on how to develop Sagar District:-
1) By developing it into an education hub of Madhya Pradesh. Currently, Sagar has -
- One of the oldest university; Hari Singh Gour University, now known as SAGAR UNIVERSITY. The university consists has good infrastucture and provides graduation,post graduation and P.hD courses in mainly all fields. - Its Pharmacy Deptt. is India's top 3rd - Indira Gandhi Engineering College(IGEC) Sagar is well recognised. - Medical College is fully functional and serving patients from nearby villages. - One of the important Army Cantonment area is situated here. - Many good institutes like St. Joseph Convent School, Army School,Vatsalya School, Central School,Deepak Memorial School, etc provides good quality education. - Chironji ki Barfi is also famous sweet dish. - Gunjan Namkeen (Gujrati Namkeen) is also very popular.
I believe Saugar was an army base or depot during the Raj, and that this role continued after Partition. I know a former Indian cavalry officer who was stationed there. Perhaps this could be solidified into the History section. Seadowns (talk) 12:31, 17 September 2017 (UTC)
