Biographic detail would be nice

edit

Does this woman not have a full name, date and place of birth, education, previous employment, family etc? This article is light-weight! Darmot and gilad (talk) 12:55, 4 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

None of that information should be posted here. Springbay (talk) 21:12, 21 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Use of NPOV and Accurate Descriptions

edit

I just had my edit which was to change the term "Neo-Nazi" to "White Nationalist" backed out by some editor, who sent me a nice little note, I guess. Saga identifies herself as a White Nationalist. The term "neo-Nazi" is a scare term.

Aren't we supposed to have NPOV in these articles? But that seems to only apply in some cases.

Pathetic, really. It's quite sickening to see the level of control one certain group with one certain ideology have asserted, including all sorts of weird thought-police like messages.

Improving Aricle

edit

I will improve on the article, but will not associate my improvments with my wikipedia account. In other words, I wish to remain anonymous using only my IP address for identification.

Secondly, the reason a google search returns little is because you are not searching correctly. Of course merely searching the word "Saga" in Google will return very little. Try instead, to search "Saga "Symphony of Sorrow"" or "Saga "White Power"" on Google and you will certainly find more. 71.204.122.218 20:33, 14 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

The link to the SPLC article does not appear to be working. Anyone have a working one? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.160.216.20 (talk) 06:19, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Categories

edit

I removed the "Holocaust denier" category tag. If there is a source to indicate its a valid category, than that source should be listed. Otherwise, it appears to be erroneous. She can be involved in white power/nationalism without being a holocaust denier. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.160.221.4 (talk) 19:17, 15 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Saga Should Stay

edit

According to the criteria listed in Wikipedia:Notability (music), Saga is safe because of two particular clauses.

Criteria for musicians and ensembles

  1. It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable.
    • This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, magazine articles, and television documentaries except for the following:
      • Media reprints of press releases, other publications where the musician/ensemble talks about themselves, and advertising for the musician/ensemble.
      • Works comprising merely trivial coverage, such as newspaper articles that simply report performance dates or the publications of contact and booking details in directories.

Saga has been the subject of many works independent of her and her publisher, including the Discovery Times interview.

Others

5. Is frequently covered in publications devoted to a notable sub-culture.

Many white nationalist and neo-nazi publications have covered Saga's music. I would consider that a notable sub-culture. -71.204.122.218 01:55, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

If you want to save this article from deletion, I would cite some sources pretty quickly. It is already on the chopping block. --Kevin Murray 06:15, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Resistance Magazine (Issue 13. Fall 2000)

edit

This issue of Resistance Magazine has an interview with Saga. I have been unable to get my hands on a copy of this issue. If anyone can find any information on the article, message me on wikipedia. Your help is greatly appreciated. --Wikischmedia 17:10, 31 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Uh, oh

The user removed the Discovery video of Saga.

I think there should be some mention of Anders Breivik listing her song lyrics as part of his manifesto.

I'm sure many anarchists who are now in prison for crimes against the system have albums from Rage Against The Machine in their ownership, but is irrelevant to their crimes and behavior. 24.190.209.14 (talk) 00:58, 22 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Nazis maybe wrong, but

edit

This article is written far too much in an anti-Saga tone. I believe a more neutral position should be taken. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Groar! (talkcontribs) 01:01, 30 April 2007 (UTC).Reply

I don't see the POV issue. Clearly she is pro-white and proud of it; this seems to be pretty clearly racist and controversial. If there were some more pro Saga references that could be cited, we could probably present a more pro Saga article. --Kevin Murray 01:19, 17 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah right. Pro-white is racism? I guess MLK day, black history month, black pride itself is racism then. No wonder you can't see the POV issue with that kind of perspective, lol. 66.38.169.238 (talk) 15:32, 21 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the POV:

I just wanted to take a second to point out what a bunch of anti-white hypocrites the writers of this article are. The VERY FIRST thing you say about this artist is "She's a white nationalist." Really? Does she identify herself as that? Funny you couldn't find a citation for her saying that. The article goes on to say "She's racist. She's racist. Nazis like her. She's racist. Oh, and she's racist."

What does that have to do with anything besides the fact that you personally think she should be gassed for holding an opinion that differs from yours?

What you mean to say is, "I, the author, think she's racist and my opinion should count as a fact, and I heard some Nazis listened to her once so that proves it. Oh, and here are a few out-of-context quotes that prove she's part of an evil, secret, Nazi conspiracy to make white people value their own race."

Great article. What is this, Jerry Springer?

Let me quote lyrics from Ice Cube's lovely song "Cave bitch":

"No stringy haired, blonde hair, blue eyed, pale skinned buttermilk complexion, grafted, recessive, depressive, ironing board backside straight up and straight down, no frills, no thrills, miss six o'clock, subject to have the itch, mutanoid, caucasoid, white cave bitch."

Let me guess, that doesn't warrant immediately classifying him in HIS article as a "black nationalist, anti-white racist" in the tiny, tiny, double-standard-bearing minds of you pin heads!

Nazis...? What does this article have to do with National Socialists? I don't believe Saga has ever identified herself as a National Socialist. 216.185.250.92 (talk) 02:50, 13 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Saga Album Cover.jpg

edit

Image:Saga Album Cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
