Request for reliable information
editThe user with IP number 213.207.253.98 (hereafter USER213) has added "citation required" to the statement "His [Sadeq Hedayat's] works have been banned in Iran since November 2006." This user has further added the comment: "I can buy his books now in tehran!!!!!!!!!" Although I am not in a position to verify the latter statement (I live outside Iran), there are at least three indications that strongly support USER213. Firstly, Sadeq Hedayat turns out to have an official Website in Iran; see [1]. This website is hosted by Pars Palette, which I am able to trace to an address in Tehran; also the Official Website of Sadeq Hedayat is registered at an address in Tehran (with the aid of an Add-on, my browser is capable of tracing the geographical locations of sites on the Internet). Secondly, a number of Hedayat's short stories can be downloaded from this same website: [2]; on the same page they state that they plan to expand this collection of down-loadable texts by Hedayat. Thirdly, there is an annual literary prize in Iran named after Sadeq Hedayat; the sixth Sadeq Hedayat Prize for 2007 is announced on the Official Website of Sadeq Hedayat; see here: [3]. Importantly, a similar announcement can be found on the website of the periodical Sokhan ((سخن)), which is registered in Iran and is also hosted by a server in Tehran.
The above points strongly suggest that the information "His [Sadeq Hedayat's] works have been banned in Iran since November 2006." is either bogus or, at best, out of date. It is to be hoped that Wikipedia contributors do not use Wikipedia as a platform for advancing their political aims by hook or by crook. I believe that someone who has access to verifiable facts should seriously consider to undertake correcting errors, if there are any, in the present Wikipedia biography of Hedayat. --BF 23:06, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

details of death
editHe had plugged all the gaps in the windows and door with cotton and, so it wouldn’t burden anyone, he had placed the money (a hundred thousand francs) for his shroud and burial in his side wallet in plain view.
