Talk:SCP Foundation

I'm new to this, but in the section describing the overview of the SCP Foundation, shouldn't they be noted to study the anomalies that they contain, as that is one of their main principles?

edit

In [1], should the sentence "the Foundation is entrusted by governments around the world to capture and contain various unexplained paranormal phenomena..." be reworded to "...capture, contain, and study various..."? Pentaract 09:21, 21 Jul 2024 (PDT)

Sometimes there's study involved, sometimes there isn't. There's no canon. DS (talk) 17:32, 21 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Am listening to the podcast Find Us Alive, entirely about Site 107 and the events surrounding the abduction/partial destruction of that site by SCP-6320 (apparently a vein of ore at the bottom of a now abandoned mine in Nevada, in fact a spacetime rift with viral characteristics).

There are others but this one prompted me to search for other information but the SCP Foundation page was empty of references to it.

Many podcasts are WP:SELFPUB, like blogs, and existing is not enough, the default assumption is that WP doesn't care. If there are SCP-podcasts that independent WP:RS has bothered to write about, it may be reasonable to mention those, cited. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 06:58, 11 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

This is off-topic, but it may interest watchers of this talkpage. It's a piece of short fiction in the form of a WP talkpage discussion. [2] Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:23, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

This is not the SCP Wiki, if you want to publish an SCP, go there. You should also change the number, as SCPs in the 44,000s are not available for submission, only SCPs in the 8,000s are for now. 2603:6080:3804:7C8D:61D2:54F0:D2C1:B296 (talk) 17:57, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

  • Typo in article
The original SCP-137 post in 2007
    +
The original SCP-173 post in 2007
  • The original 4chan posts has SCP-173 written in it, and the SCP is still called SCP-173:

SCP-426

edit

Since I can't seem to edit the article directly, could someone edit the SCP-426 bullet to say "SCP-426 am a toaster that can only be referred to in the first person," or failing that "SCP-426, a toaster that can only be referred to in the first person"? As it is now, with "is," the bullet is self-contradictory 216.16.137.230 (talk) 13:24, 14 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not done As stated in the FAQ at the top of this talk page, SCP-426's infohazard only exists in-universe. The article is written from a real-life perspective, per MOS:REALWORLD. -- KomradeKalashnikov (talk) 18:14, 14 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Then honestly just delete the bullet altogether. There are plenty of others to fill out the section without this one explicitly contradicting itself due to wiki rules 2600:8804:5601:900:ED2F:ADC2:89D7:E704 (talk) 00:06, 15 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
All the bullets say "SCP-x is a". IMO changing that to "SCP-x, a" is neither better or worse. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:40, 14 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
