Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 4 external links on Russell Williams. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Media Sections

edit

I renamed the "Film" section as "Fictional portrayals" because it includes a TV movie, which is not quite a "film", and I added a "Film and Television" section to cover both the long-form programs and the 2017 documentary. I also feel that it won't be the last fictional portrayal of Mr. Williams. Matuko (talk) 01:40, 6 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

"Subsequent to his conviction, his uniform was burned, his medals were destroyed and his vehicle crushed and scrapped"

edit

The archived news story states that his uniform was burned, and says only that the whereabouts of his medals were known. It doesn't even mention an automobile. If there is another source that states the fate of his medals and vehicle, it should be used instead. If not, only the part about burning his uniform should remain, right? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.77.72.41 (talk) 23:32, 6 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Victims

edit

Here, Aquatic Ambiance noted there were 2 victims. However, Williams was convicted of two murders, two sexual assaults, two forcible confinements, and 82 cases of breaking and entering. "Victim" isn't limited to "murder victim" as far as I can see, so this number is just wrong. At the very least, we have to count the victims of sexual assault, no? So that's at least four victims. And each of the break-and-enters has a victim, though it's unlikely we'd count that. Frankly, I find it offensive for Wikipedia to state there are only two victims here. I therefore propose we remove the field. Alternatively, we could change the victim count to four, accounting for the convictions on murder and sexual assault. I'm not hugely in favour of this, though, as we know Williams has more victims than this, it's just that he's only been convicted of these four charges (well, plus the 82 other charges). --Yamla (talk) 11:00, 31 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Aquatic Ambiance's change was reverted by Wampagranule who noted, as I noted here, that claiming only two victims was misleading. --Yamla (talk) 10:28, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
