Ross W. Clarkson has a unique approach to filming action scenes, something he has learned in Hongkong from Ringo Lam. His style of filming altercations is now found in video games. While some people look down on the kind of films he has photographed, his body of work is bigger than that of many "art film" cinematographers. He has regularly worked on three continents for three decades because his "language" is multicultural and being understood globally... I consider him "a hidden champion". Hidden, because the audience often believes that only the actor would be responsible for a surprising action scene, while in actuality the way it is filmed makes many action scenes so captivating. Every intellectual should therefore understand that if certain action stars are notable, the brain behind that should have earned notability too.
