Oppose – First of all, the Korean-New Zealand singer has a ~18:1 pageview ratio with the Scottish-American singer, possibly suggesting a WP:PDABPRIMARY. Even if other users would find such a ratio insufficient for a PDAB, the South Korean singer is a member of the active girl group Blackpink, which has been [c]ited as the "biggest girl group in the world" (quoting from the Blackpink article). The Scottish-American singer is more active as a drag queen, such as competing on RuPaul's Drag Race; thus, his role as a singer is of a lesser significance.
Oppose, I agree that it seems that the other Rosé is primarily known for being a drag queen, thus the current dab is sufficient. In contrast, the vast majority of people who are searching for Rosé (singer) are looking for the Blackpink member, not the drag queen. I honestly don't see why the current page titles should be renamed, and especially not to the proposed title considering that she is also a New Zealand citizen. The hatnote that was previously on this page should have not been removed. ɴᴋᴏɴ21❯❯❯talk20:06, 24 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oppose: as per above. There's no need for this move, as the other one is known more as a drag queen rather than as a singer. Current disambiguating term are more suitable than the ones proposed. Vestrian24Bio (TALK) 16:22, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oppose: Rosé (singer) is more popular and anyways the other Rosé is more know for being a drag queen than a singer. A change is not needed. We can change it to Roseanne Park later though if Rosé decides to go with her full name when she releases her solo album. If not, Rosé (singer) should not change. Oppose per Nkon21. The current disambiguation is sufficient as the other Rosé is primarily known for being a drag queen not a singer. The hatnote would help to direct any readers looking for the other articles. Aoba47 (talk) 22:51, 2 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Change "She is the third-most followed Korean individual on Instagram" to "She is the second-most followed Korean individual on Instagram

Rosé has recently become the second most followed Korean individual on Instagram surpassing her bandmate Jisoo. As such this line should be edited to match current statistics. 192.166.211.61 (talk) 20:03, 5 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
The comment in the text of the lead sentence doesn't state why the sentence is worded the way it is, just that she's a dual citizen. Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Biography is very specific on how dual citizenship should be referenced in BLP lead sentences. Specifically WP:NATIONALITY. "Korean-New Zealand" is ambiguous with "a person with New Zealand citizenship who is of Korean ethnicity". In addition, "Korean" is not a nationality, it is an ethnicity. "South Korean" is the nationality."South Korean and New Zealand" is extremely unambiguous and follows the standards as set by Wikipedia's manual of style. RachelTensions (talk) 02:48, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
The comment says Maintain Korean-New Zealand nationality in lead as per WP:MOS guidelines and South Korean nationality law., which seems pretty clear to me: "South Korean" is not considered a nationality as such. I also confess I don't really see the potential issue of ambiguity that you do. Remsense ‥ 论02:51, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't think Korean–New Zealand is plausibly conflating ethnicity with nationality. I think the issue is actually the hyphen instead of the expected en dash. Remsense ‥ 论03:01, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
If we're relying on a – versus a - to disambiguate between ethnicity and nationality then we've got to make it a lot clearer than that.I will once again reiterate that WP:MOSBIO is very clear that dual citizenship should be written in the lead sentence as "Country1 and Country2" not "Country1-Country2". Why should we make an exception here? RachelTensions (talk) 03:19, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Is Korean and New Zealander plausible here? I'm an American, so I don't know what the potential fine connotations are between New Zealand and New Zealander as a demonym. Remsense ‥ 论03:25, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
"New Zealand" is the proper adjective to use for a citizen of New Zealand per List of adjectival and demonymic forms for countries and nations and Wikipedia:WikiProject New Zealand guidelines. So I guess the only question is which order to put them in; I'd assume the country the subject was born in goes first and then acquired (or inherited) citizenship goes second but I don't see anything in the MOS regarding this other than the fact that that's how it happens to be conveyed in the two examples."Roseanne Park MBE (born 11 February 1997), better known by her stage name Rosé (Korean: 로제), is a New Zealand and South Korean singer based in South Korea." I'd probably remove the "based in South Korea" bit too because it'd be a little redundant given that we just said two words earlier that she's South Korean. Hi all—
The drag queen Rosé has also released music, and both the singer discussed here on this page as well as the entertainer known from RuPaul's Drag Race have songs on music streaming platforms under the same name with the same spelling.
Is it worth including a hatnote for this page that reads, "Not to be confused with the drag queen Rosé, who has also released music"? Or something of the such. I know there is also a French singer named Rose but her name does not include the accent mark. Fruitworth (talk) 00:34, 25 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I think this has been discussed this before and the consensus was that anybody arriving at Rosé (singer) would be extremely unlikely to be confused and actually be looking for the article on Rosé (drag queen) given the drag queen's notability is as a drag queen and her music career is just a small subsection of that.Basically anyone seeing the article title "Rosé (singer)" pop up when searching for the article on the drag queen would be very unlikely to think, "oh, there's the article I'm looking for".
