AL DUKES

edit

Can we add an Al Dukes section to the article. When I could ge their show, it was some of the best radio I have ever listened to.--64.94.199.9 19:24, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mabye someone could make a section for radio talk shows, or something? AshTM 21:58, 17 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Maybe we should add more? R&F's beginnings in Florida, move to NY, then DC? I'll see what I can put together --Kevin McManus 19:23, May 19, 2005 (UTC)

"Based out of the station"? Where exactly is it based, then? -- Picapica 18:41, 21 May 2005 (UTC)Reply
I don't see anything wrong with that wording. It's based out of WJFK and broadcasted in Washington DC metro area. --Kevin McManus 00:41, May 22, 2005 (UTC)
Sorry: this is me being a boring and pedantic old fart, I know, but to me one thing can be based in a place (the company is based in Seattle, i.e. has its base in Seattle) or on another thing (the film is based on a true story, i.e. has a true story as its basis), but out of a place — when it is not implying movement, in which case it cannot combine with base/basis: the absence of movement — is a reference to somewhere else (he lives out of town). I therefore ask again: if the broadcast to which you are referring is indeed based out of station WJFK, then the question inevitably arises — where, then, is it based?
I would also point out that the past participle of "broadcast" is "broadcast": I have broadcast, you have broadcast, etc.
I should like to suggest that what you are in fact trying to say is that the show in question is broadcast by station WJFK to the Washington DC metro area. -- Picapica 21:21, 23 May 2005 (UTC)Reply
Well regardless of my grammatical mistake in my last comment, I am, in fact, not the author of the stub ;). Anyway, I understand what you mean about the wording. I changed the last sentance to reflect upon that. Any further suggestions? I hope to expand this article anyway. --Kevin McManus 18:40, May 24, 2005 (UTC)

Oh my god, someone actually worked on this! Awesome. AshTM 2 July 2005 05:26 (UTC)

Staff

edit

I haven't listened to the show in a while, so my expansion of the staff section may be innacurate. I also dont know any of the current producers besides Keisha, nor any current interns. Please feel free to add to the list (past and present staff) --Kevin McManus 23:11, July 12, 2005 (UTC)

Rise and Fall of [[East --Bill.matthews 21:05, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Side Dave]]

edit

I think this should have a short wording on the main page as the first real XM exclusive bit (not counting Harry). A link could be put to go to his page for the full break down. Thoughts? TravKoolBreeze 20:04, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Absolutely. Want to take a shot at it? --Bill.matthews 21:05, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Break out some stuff

edit

The article is great, but it's getting too damn big. I think the "Cast of Characters" section should be broken out into a separate article. Any objections? -- BD2412 talk 17:26, August 14, 2005 (UTC)

No objections here. I suggest we move it to List of Ron and Fez staff and characters --Kevin McManus 00:46, August 16, 2005 (UTC)
And I said "let it be done." And lo! It was done! Actually, I've put them at List of Ron and Fez Show characters. No biggie - I'll redirect your link there. -- BD2412 talk 02:31, August 16, 2005 (UTC)

Big Cleanup

edit

This article seems to be little more than a vanity piece and it was huge. All this info could be on Ron and Fez's own webpage...

Completely disagree - this article should be an example for other radio talk shows - especially one with a 20 year history that is now thrust into the national spotlight through satellite. I don't believe there is such a thing as too much information with respect to this. My only suggestions would be tightening of the "comedy" section, and reinstating the XM information that was hacked out without thought a month ago.

backwards order

edit

The sections of this article are in reverse chronological order, which is kinda unintuitive and awkward to read in order. It makes more sense to put a current overview first, then to have the rest of the history starting from the beginning. Night Gyr 03:55, 8 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Florida Appearances

edit

Do we really need to list their 1989-1997 Florida appearances? I think the first sentence should be enough, we don't need every comedy show they did. --Bill.matthews 16:56, 14 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

The popularity of Opie & Anthony

edit

I changed the "very popular" statement to "moderately popular" because O&A their ratings are pretty low so they are obiously not that popular in my opinion. --Rolfz 01:12, january 9th 2007 (UTC)

And since when is wikipedia the place for your opinion?--XMBRIAN 01:38, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

It is as much the place for mine as it is for anybodys. Stating that O&A are VERY popular is simply very subjectively put. --Rolfz 01:12, january 9th 2007 (UTC)

Then remove the line altogether, but as you said above "so they are obiously not that popular in my opinion." --XMBRIAN 21:24, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Never mind, I did it myself.--XMBRIAN 21:25, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think popular would be a good way to put it, if it needs to be reentered or reworked in some way. Eatabullet 19:56, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Characters

edit

I removed Foul Mouth Elmo from the show characters page, as he was only a caller doing an unfunny + irrelevant bit & not a staff member. I placed it onto the List of Ron and Fez Show characters page and updated it as Ron has mocked the character on both XM & Free FM saying that the bit is dead & has no legs anymore. Important Events of the XM and Free FM Era

edit

I think it would be useful to add some notable events of the XM era. What do you all think? Perhaps make a new article for each era of the show to compact the size of the main article.Eatabullet 22:07, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:923freefm.gif

In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Sources

edit

That articles has been tagged for requiring sources since April. Now editors are trying to source edits from a fan forum. I propose to start removing unsourced information soon. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 06:04, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ratings

edit

Is there any ballpark figure of their current amount of listeners on XM? Even an estimate would be helpful for this page.24.16.25.69 18:24, 2 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

XM doesn't publish ratings.--Rtphokie (talk) 22:44, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Split

edit

This article is getting pretty long. Any opinions on splitting out the older, pre XM stuff into it's own article and including a brief (1 paragraph) history following by the most current info?--Rtphokie (talk) 22:44, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Stunts & Bets

edit

I can't find any sources for the "Stunts & Bets" section. I deleted it due to derogatory information about living people, per WP:BLP. An unregisterested editor restored it, with the edit summary:

  • Will Beback, no source? The source is the show itself. Even the video is quoted as being on RonFez.net. You are editing on opinion. These things happened on the show. What other source is there? [1]

I don't know what source there is. I went to the website and couldn't find anything about these purported incidents. There is no way of verifying that I can see, other than going back in a time machine and listening to the show on unknown past dates. (Unfortunately my time machine is still on order.) WP:V says that unsourced material may be removed, and WP:BLP says that unsourced material about libving people should be removed, especially if it's contentious. This material, among other things, asserts that two men had oral then anal sex. That needs a very good source indeed. I am going to keep removing this material until sources can be found, and I'm also giivng fair warning about other unsourced material in this article. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 20:37, 29 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ron and Ron

edit

I added a bunch of sources to the Ron and Ron section and moved it to The Ron and Ron Show. It is notable on its own and was making this article too long. The move was made with this edit [2]. - Galatz (talk) 16:43, 19 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
