Roman Gul was NOT a writer and journalist of the White Movement. In western terms, his position was socialdemocratic and liberal, he sharply criticed the Russian emigrés who wanted to reestablish the Russian Imperium. Besides he was one of the first understanding that Stalin is a traitor of socialist ideas, but Gul also condemned Trotsky's system of terror and "permanent revolution".
