Notability
editOnel5969, John B123, I think that the two additional sources provided by Abog come just shy of meeting NTOUR outright, to the point that we're probably in NPOSSIBLE territory. The Union Trib piece doesn't mention the tour itself, but provides a brief review of a concert that was publicized as part of this tour. The piece in Excélsior was concerning at first as it didn't appear to have a byline, but I was able to find a non-mobile version of the article [1], that does include a byline. Particularly given the brevity of the first article's coverage, I'd like to see one more review before deeming that NTOUR has been met, but if I'd come across the article in this state to begin with I probably would have tagged it with {{notability}} and approved it out of the queue. signed, Rosguill talk 17:32, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for starting a dialogue. I’m sorry I missed the deletion/redirect as I haven’t been as active as I used to be. I guess I’m just a little confused as to why this tour article was targeted for deletion when it has what I thought were enough sources and just as much notability as any other tour by this band or bands of similar stature. It’s a tour article by a highly notable band...it’s a given it’s going to get media coverage and have sources. Granted the sources may be more difficult to find due to it occurring in primarily Spanish-speaking countries, but the coverage is clearly there. Here’s yet another write-up of another show on the tour in Chile: https://rocknvivo.com/aerosmith-en-chile-2016/ Sure, the tour was shorter than some others, but some just are shorter, but the tour was distinctly branded as Rock ‘n’ Roll Rumble Tour as opposed to their Blue Army Tour of 2015 or Aero Vederci Baby Tour of 2017. I just think it looks very silly on Wikipedia’s part to have gaps in the coverage of the concert tours of a major band, particularly when there’s plenty of sources out there for the missing tour. What exactly is the metric for number of sources or types of sources for a concert tour? Have the goal posts been moved? Abog (talk) 02:57, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for the pings Rosguill and John B123. I agree with your assessment, Rosguill, that at least 1 more in-depth review is warranted to barely pass WP:NTOURS and WP:GNG. WP:OSE arguments are simply a waste of time.Onel5969 TT me 12:30, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- I don’t think they are a “waste of time”...there needs to be a level playing field, consistency, and fair application of policies and rules. I’m just curious as to what the current metrics are for quantity and types of sources when it comes to concert tour articles. Does the review of the Chile show not qualify? What qualifies as an “in depth” review? 500 words? 1000 words? And what does it matter?...sometimes a succinct review is better anyways. Abog (talk) 14:51, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- Here’s a more in-depth review of one of the shows in Argentina: https://www.telam.com.ar/notas/201610/166262-estadio-unico-la-plata-aerosmith.html How many more do I need? WP:NTOURS is unclear. Abog (talk) 15:04, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- Reviews of the show in São Paulo: http://g1.globo.com/sao-paulo/musica/noticia/2016/10/aerosmith-faz-show-neste-sabado-15-no-allianz-parque-em-sao-paulo.html

- (edit conflict) Abog, I think that the Argentinian article is solid coverage and pushes this over the line for me (post-ec: the Tenho Mais Discos coverage is significant, although I'm not sure that the source is reliable. The G1 coverage is borderline: it's primarily an announcement of an upcoming show in São Paolo, but it does briefly cover the turnout of a prior show in Porto Alegre). The Chilean coverage, however, isn't a review, it's an announcement; the entire thing is written in future tense

. I think that at this point notability has been established and I don't have any concerns, but I did want to address these sources to try to explain what coverage we're looking for for future articles. signed, Rosguill talk 15:14, 8 September 2020 (UTC)- I see that now (regarding the Chile show). Thank you for acknowledging the Argentinian coverage. I think the São Paulo reviews help support the case as well...also came across a Getty Images photo catalog and blog reviews for the show as well, in addition to the above links. Do we have consensus to restore with the Argentina and Brazil reviews added as additional sources? Abog (talk) 15:24, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
