Robert Ferber on graduate students
editThis comment is a product of its times (1968), but still!
"A university is an excellent source of low-cost, good labor, particularly of the semiprofessional variety. It is true that the slave labor status of graduate students has been ameliorated somewhat by the flood of government scholarship programs, but even so the essence of this slave labor system is likely to remain - fortunately."
