Speedy deletion contested
editThis article is significant and is covered under the notability guidelines. This band has been extensively featured in many music magazines and notable music programs like NPR Music. This band is known for creating a new sound fusing musical genres; traditional Merengue music from Dominican Republic and elements of Rock music. They have a facebook page that has almost 1,000 "likes". Furthermore the speedy deletion is unjust and does not apply in this case. Here is a quote from "criterias for speedy deletion" CSD A7:
"The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source or does not qualify on Wikipedia's notability guidelines."
and also:
"Contributors sometimes create pages over several edits, so administrators should avoid deleting a page that appears incomplete too soon after its creation."
In addition (as mentions briefly in the first paragraph), this article meets at least one of the criterias for musicians and ensembles here: http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:MUSIC#Criteria_for_musicians_and_ensembles
Clearly, this articles does not meet the criteria for speedy deletion and I have shown why; it meets the criteria for Notability. Instead of deleting the page, please help make it better, thanks --User:Samil20 (talk) 03:56, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
