Amityville, New York seems to have older, more reliable citations to support this place of birth and is currently listed on this WP article. Less commonly seen place of birth is Massapequa, New York which is a neighboring town to Amityville. Happy to revisit this issue on the talk page here when we have more information. ^Congress, The Library of. "Mayhew, Richard, 1934-". LC Linked Data Service: Authorities and Vocabularies (Library of Congress). Retrieved 2020-11-09.
I did some reading about Mayhew and he served in WWII (1939–1945) and was active in New York City in the 1940s, that was when he met his first wife. It would not be possible if he had been born in 1934. I am removing the 1934 date of birth from the article today, based on this - but will leave the info on the talk page incase it needs to be revisited later.
