Notability
editI have searched for reliable sources that describe or discuss this food, and have been unable to find any. Unless some sources are found, then the article is very likely to be deleted in a few days. Does anyone here have any sources? Sources don't have to be in English, but they do need to be published (like a cookbook or a book about nutrition). Blogs and chat boards don't count. WhatamIdoing (talk) 21:14, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- Kanji vellam is nothing but malayalam for rice water. I'm surprised this survived AfD. Congee#Indian discusses the same thing, so the topic is already covered on wiki. A redirect is also unnecessary as this is a Malayalam word for which a proper English translation exists. This should be put through AfD once again.--thunderboltz(TALK) 13:43, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- A merger is always appropriate, even after a discussion at WP:AFD. Please list this at WP:PM, or discuss it further here, if you wish to go further with that line of reasoning. In the meanwhile, I'll try to find sources. Bearian (talk) 15:22, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Redirecting
editNone of the people who thought that an article whose content should be "This is the Malayam word for rice water gruel" at the AfD have bothered to improve it, or even to provide the many reliable sources they asserted during the AfD discussion, so I'm going to redirect this article to Gruel. If you don't like it, please feel free to provide any reliable source that contains more than a passing mention of this. WhatamIdoing (talk) 19:23, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Rice water
editI have moved the topic to the title rice water as this better represents the topic in English. Colonel Warden (talk) 07:10, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
- But now the reference to Kanjivellam no longer fits. I am sure rice water has translations in many languages; why would the translation in one particular language be notable? Churn and change (talk) 16:51, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
Rice Water for Health & Beauty
editI think the article has a really good level of detail, especially in the Applications section. The one place where maybe there could be a citation is in the Nutrients section, as its unclear where you got that list. I think the History section would be interesting to expand on further too (if you can find more information). Overall the article seems well cited and well organized.
