- See "leuco dye" for a quick introduction to the equilibrium relationship between the "spiro" form illustrated as the reaction product and the opened ionic form in the infobox. Maybe a later pH change or dissolving in a different solvent converts the original product to the "active" colored fluorescent form. DMacks (talk) 03:21, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
