I have just added David W. Gooding who was emeritus Professor of Old Testament Greek (i.e. Septuagint studies) in Belfast (Queen's University), author of books such as According to Luke and True to the Faith - a fresh exposition of the Acts of the Apostles, both of which use rhetorical criticism to great effect. Disambiguation needed

edit

There is an approach to Biblical interpretation called "rhetorical criticism." And "rhetorical criticism" is also the name of basic methodology within rhetorical studies, a scholarly tradition within U.S. Communication and English departments. Despite their shared name, the two bodies of scholarship have little overlap. I suspect that two separate articles are going to be needed--maybe "Rhetorical Criticism" and "Rhetorical Criticism (Biblical)"?Jeangoodwin (talk) 21:28, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Added fantasy-theme, feminist, generic, and generative criticism to criticism approaches section. Added citation as well (Sonja K. Foss, Rhetorical Criticism: Exploration and Practice, 5th ed.). Aleon014 (talk) 05:45, 13 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
