ALT1:... that the last scene of the Neon Genesis Evangelion episode "Rei II", in which female character Rei Ayanami smiles at male protagonist Shinji Ikari, has been described as the end of her character by director Hideaki Anno? Source: Hideaki Anno Schizo Evangelion, pp. 93–96
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
Cited: - Offline/paywalled citation accepted in good faith
Interesting:
QPQ: None required.
Overall: Plot summary can easily be verified by putting DVD into player. Assuming good faith on sources in languages I can't read or that I otherwise cannot access. Substantially prefer the main hook about "all of the electricity in Japan" to the alternative hook, although both look fine. Could a picture of the space shuttle be used to illustrate the shield Rei uses for the alternative hook (half joking)? No obvious signs of copyright violations. QPQ not required as nominator apparently only has two prior credits. Article was promoted to Good Article status a couple of days before the nomination was made. Easily long enough. Everything appears to be sourced and performing spot checks on the sources shows no obvious deviations. Article covers the episode in relatively neutral terms. Edit: Would suggest changing "female character Rei Ayanami smiles at male protagonist Shinji Ikari" in ALT1 to "the character Rei Ayanami smiles at protagonist Shinji Ikari" as it's unclear how their genders are directly relevant. Ah, that does make some sense; although I think it's already relatively apparent which character is being referred to since the episode is called Rei II and Rei is the subject of the previous sentence fragment. HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 10:40, 28 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
