Some plagiarism detected in article and biased coverage
editHi, I followed through on the source of some of the content and some full paragraphs are copy pasted from the sources, such as the ones from this article in the war crimes section. I'm also concerned that some parts of this article are phrased in a way as if to defend Westerling rather than simply describe what has been written about him.--Dan Carkner (talk) 14:48, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
Your points are all valid. I will make a few edits, but more work is needed. — BCorr|Брайен 16:13, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
In the recent edits, there appears to be some attempt to defend Westerling which are cited only to a website created as a tribute to him. I don't think that's an appropriate source to give context to war crime allegations. --Dan Carkner (talk) 17:00, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Dan Carkner. The citation you refer to might be the result of a translation carry over from the respective Dutch Wiki. With this i'll put a (possibly momentary) [failed verification] template once a better citation is found. Cheers!

- Sure thing. Make sure to be cautious when bringing over content from there if it's too much tilted towards rehabilitating or justifying him (fan sites, his own autobiography etc). Dan Carkner (talk) 15:37, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
'when war engulfed Europe in 1941'
editI just noticed the line 'When World War II engulfed Europe in 1941' under 'Early life'. Nazi Germany had already conquered much of the continent by then, including the Netherlands the year before, and this doesn't read right. Any issues with me changing this to the version of this on the Dutch Wiki article to read thusly: 'in 1941, at the age of 22, Westerling went to the Dutch consulate in Istanbul and enlisted in the Royal Netherlands Army."?ck (talk) 11:50, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
