GF vs. TRF
editI have reworked the article to put more emphasis on the Grand Forks arena. I think the average person using Wikipedia to get information about "Ralph Engelstad Arena" is looking for information about the Grand Forks facility. The Thief River Falls facility, while certainly worthy of sharing this article with its bigger brother, is clearly much less prominent and, unlike the Grand Forks arena, virtually unheard of outside of the region. pic
editI like the new picture, but could that one be included somewhere a ways down in the article and a pic that more prominently features the building itself used as the one for the infobox? It seems a little odd to have such a prominent pic of the building's sign in the infobox when the building itself is what is being described. --MatthewUND(talk) 23:28, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Missing Image of Fighting Sioux
editSomeone with a totally inappropriate POV has been deleting the Fighting Sioux logo from this and other websites. I don't have time to re-insert but someone should. The incredible boldness of these people is unbelievable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elcajonfarms (talk • contribs)
- You're right, the image has been deleted because it did not have a detailed fair use claim associated with it. I will add the logo again in the future and I will fill out the fair use claim. I agree that the article is missing something without the logo. --MatthewUND(talk) 06:15, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Logos are prohibited on other articles then the team article. The user who removed it from this article was just following wiki-policy. --Krm500 08:00, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- While what you say is basically true, the main reason this logo was removed from this and other articles was because it did not have a full fair use rationale for being used in each of those articles. --MatthewUND(talk) 09:01, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
NPOV dispute
editThis article seems to violate the Wikipedia Neutral Point of View guidelines. Additionally, it contains numerous unverified claims. Please add citations to any claims currently missing them. Afeickert 01:55, 19 October 2007 (UTC)0
- The article was lacking sources, but I'm not sure that there were too many NPOV problems. Regardless, I have cleaned up the article and added a number of sources. --MatthewUND(talk) 05:28, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your edits; they really improved the quality of the article. Afeickert 00:32, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
USA Today Article
editI think that USA Today article about the Nickname controversy is biased against nickname supporters and UND (and the supposed "poisonous atmosphere" there)
Outdated section
editI just added Standing Rock Indian Reservation#University of North Dakota and noticed that this article's coverage of the topic is out of date. For example. see http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/08/14/north.dakota.mascot.fight/ 72.244.204.135 (talk) 09:53, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
