Disruption from Georgia IPs
editSomeone in the area of Atlanta, Georgia, has been disrupting this page, persistently changing Madonna to Janet Jackson as the primary example of "Queen of Pop". The great mass of literature points to Madonna.
Note that other drive-by editors have also changed Madonna to other performers such as Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston and more. However, Madonna is by far the most widely cited.

- The literature both in academia or popular press with Madonna and its nickname of Queen of Pop, is equivalent to those frequent reviews/association about "vocals" with performers such as Houston, Dion or Carey. It's part of her literature. The nickname is so linked to Madonna, that although newer mainstream pop stars like Spears, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Gaga or Rihanna have received this tag, all of them also have been called "a Madonna" in the international press (the Madonna of this generation, the next Madonna or the new Madonna, and so on). Nearly every "national Queen of Pop" of countless countries have been referred to as "a Madonna" as well (examples): Turkish Madonna (Hande Yener, Sezen Aksu), Greek Madonna (Anna Vissi), or by race Latin/Mexican Madonna (Thalía, Yuri, Paulina Rubio, Gloria Estefan or even Shakira), Asian Madonna (Jolin Tsai, A-mei or Anita Mui), African Madonna (Brenda Fassie or Oumou Sangaré). I can continue providing a couple of hundreds examples about this. Please be advise, too, there is specific sources given an explanation or specifically saying that she has been "commonly" (or with similar words) referred to as the Queen of Pop (example 1 or 2), and beyond every major female of that period. As we can see, there is more and more context to add, and if someone need sources (English and non-English sources), from what I said or from something else, I can kindly provide it. So additions/changes like with this persistent IP from Georgia, goes against of a varied of Wikipedia's guidelines such as WP:NPV and WP:Worldwide view. --Apoxyomenus (talk) 20:02, 3 March 2022 (UTC)
