King's Own Yorkshire Dragoons?
editPlease excuse my ignorance, but would the prefix of "Queen's" have been "King's" when a King was the monarch, i.e. King's Own Yorkshire Dragoons, or is the name constant irrespective of the gender of the monarch? Best Regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 12:02, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
- No. Honour titles (such as Queen's Own, King's Own, Duke of Wellington's etc) were awarded for specific people, in this case Queen Victoria. See [1]. Titles might change as the namesake changed title, for example, see The Central India Horse (21st King George V's Own Horse). Hamish59 (talk) 13:58, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
