Deragatory Remarks

edit

This phrase " but the family had meanwhile ingratiated themselves to the western powers as docile and obedient lapdogs, " does not sound adequate in this form for a Wikipedia article. I remove/ modify it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.148.27.35 (talk) 08:47, 9 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

I removed the following line, not only because it was misplaced, but also because I would like to see sources cited before any changes are made.

"his wife is actually from Pakistan, not from India. She was the daughter of the Pakistani Ambassoder in London."

Lucifer?

edit

Perhaps there's something I don't understand about Prince Hassan bin Talal and Mario Rapisardi...or someone's vandalised this page with a picture of Lucifer, intended as an insult. I'm cautious about taking it down because I have nothing to replace it with, but I thought this should be brought to someone's attention. Sorry if it's a non-issue. ~Lexi (talk) 12:51, 7 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for pointing that out! The IP seems to be the Lucifer himself as he lied that he corrected a spelling mistake so nobody checked what he really did. Surtsicna (talk) 13:14, 7 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

POV/Editorializing regarding Geiger award

edit

"The Prince's efforts to promote understanding between the Islamic and Western Worlds are crucial at a time when we seem to be drifting apart, with perceived differences appearing to overwhelm the many things we have in common, both culturally and religiously."

This statement is full of things that don't seem to be for wikipedia. First of all the use of the term "crucial," but overshadowed by the use of the word "we." The sentence is clearly written from the perspective of a monotheist who believes in cooperation between the three major monotheistic religions. While I'm not opposed to that ideology, I do not believe that this sort of POV belongs in a wikipedia article. My suggestion is that it be removed. OcciMoron (talk) 17:37, 28 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Move

edit

Please move this article to El Hassan bin Talal, where it was earlier in the year. Articles about royalty don't get the royal title at the start of the article name. Either they get simply the personal name, such as Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, or they get the name and then the title, such as Charles, Prince of Wales. The first choice seems to be better here, since it's an Arabic name and not a Western one. 2001:18E8:2:1020:30F4:F313:6D39:FA4 (talk) 19:46, 30 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Not done: page move requests should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves. RudolfRed (talk) 02:13, 31 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
