Seconded; the preemption of television programming in the US is often cited as the downfall of many a television series (i.e. "The show's ratings looked bad during the third season because it kept getting preempted for baseball, leading to its eventual cancellation"). Yeah, it needs a separate article. Here in Canada, I've mostly heard the term "pre-empted" in the context of shows getting interrupted by local sporting events or breaking news. -- Gordon Ecker, WikiSloth (talk) 20:43, 28 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
