Contested deletion
editAn immediate speedy deletion notice? That was a surprise. In any case, I'm supposed to explain "This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because..." This is why: (1) Posiva is constructing the world's first deep geological repository of nuclear waste, which should be of some interest to readers; and (2), there were about five or six links to the company from other pages on the English Wikpiedia already, which appeared as red, indicating a non-existing article -- so it appeared clear to me that there was a demand for it. --Teemu Leisti (talk) 13:09, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
I might also point out that the category Finnish company stubs includes many smaller and less important companies, in the sense that Posiva is an important part of Finland's energy infrastructure. (And no, I have no personal links of any sort with the company.) --Teemu Leisti (talk) 13:19, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
I added references to external sources that refer to Posiva. And I noticed that the introduction of Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion says: "Administrators should take care not to speedy delete pages or media except in the most obvious cases. ... Contributors sometimes create pages over several edits, so administrators should avoid deleting a page that appears incomplete too soon after its creation." Respectfully, I submit to you that this page does not merit speedy deletion. Furthermore, I don't think it merits deletion at all, but if you do feel so, please start a normal deletion process by nominating the article for deletion. Thank you. --Teemu Leisti (talk) 13:49, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
The above was addressed to User:Noq, who added the speedy deletion tag to the article. Now another editor, User:Peridon, has removed the tag. Thanks. --Teemu Leisti (talk) 18:41, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
