Why was this car spelled "Pontiac LeMans". The town is spelled Le Mans!

Different Articles for each incarnation???

Should the Mid-size LeMans and the Compact LeMans have separate articles?

Engine Option

Thanks for the article-- I found one possible error. I owned a 1980 Grand LeMans, and it came with a Chevrolet 229 2-barrel for an engine, not the Buick 231. I was the second owner of the car, and pretty sure everything was original/matching, fwiw, so this may have also been an engine option.66.90.140.95 19:53, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

That would make sense. We don't even have an article on the 229 V6 yet. It's so easy to assume the 231 was the V6 offering, because it's been used everywhere. I'll try and dig up some information on the 229. --Sable232 20:06, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Generations?

I'm a bit confused as to the year breaks in the article. Why are the very different 1968-69 models included with the 1964-67 models? And why are the '73-'77s added to the '70-72s?

The French Connection

Probably the most famous chase in movie history involved a Pontiac LeMans, and as far as I know that's the only portrayal of it in film form. In posterity, people (of my age particularly) who knew nothing of the car in its own lifetime, know it from Popeye Doyle's driving. Why was my edit deleted?
