Please change the "owner(s)" line in the intro side bar to "Mario Lemieux and Ron Burkle" because some troll fool erroneously changed it to the "New York Rangers". 173.75.225.5 (talk) 15:03, 16 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Done. I wonder if that means the Canadiens will own them when they own the Rangers next round. -DJSasso (talk) 15:11, 16 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Bylsma status

edit

According to every reference that I have seen, including NHL.com and the reference cited by the editor who wrote that Bylsma was fired, says that on,y Shero was fired and Bylsma remains on the job. He may yet be fired later, but not now. So I am changing that back until there is evidence that Bylsma is out.

A redirect, NHL Pittsburgh Pirates, should be deleted.

edit

There is a page called NHL Pittsburgh Pirates (check here, click hide links). The Pirates are the baseball team. The Ultimate New England Patriots Guy (talk) 00:30, 19 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Doesn't need to be deleted, the target just needed to be changed to Pittsburgh Pirates (NHL). GB fan 01:48, 19 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I know this sort of thing comes as a surprise to sports fans who think that sports were invented when they were themselves seven years old, but in fact there was, once, an NHL team called the Pittsburgh Pirates ... the same way there used to be NFL teams called the St. Louis Cardinals, the Detroit Tigers, the New York Yankees, the Brooklyn Dodgers, the Cincinnati Reds, the Washington Senators and the Cleveland Indians; a MLB team called the New York Giants; and a NHL team called the Colorado Rockies. Logo update?

edit

Does anyone have an SVG of the proper 72-92 logo? It's not the same logo as the modern-day skating penguin. It's quite similar, but there are differences. --Kevin W. - Talk 21:09, 10 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

And why isn't the proper logo used as the current logo in the "Logo and uniforms" section? The one where it says "2016-present" does not have "Pittsburgh Gold" but some other yellow tone in it. Simply compare this logo to the proper logo used in the infobox section and you'll see the difference. 78.35.166.160 (talk) 11:19, 3 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Jerseys...

edit

Pittsburgh will no longer be using "Vegas Gold"- the currently updated sweater in the article, as Las Vegas will be granted an expansion team. The new jerseys look like this; Can anyone ask User:Silent Wind of Doom to create to new jerseys? (Oh, by the way -- the current jersey image's alternate jersey is now the main home jersey.)

Just in case you couldn't see it, here's the link: http://www.icethetics.co/blog/2016/6/24/penguins-unveil-new-throwback-road-jersey

I did the original versions of these templates, but since others have taken over. I could get a new set out, but it would likely take a good amount of time. I'm rather busy at the moment. The last time I put out these was when Atlanta had a hockey team. Check the latest upload on each and see who's been updating them. --The Silent Wind of Doom (talk) 00:48, 16 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

I've added the outdated File:ECM-Uniform-PIT.png file to the "Logo and jersey" section and crossed out it in the info box. Until we get the jersey updated we'll have to make do. @Kevin W.: The Pancakeof Heaven! 13:44, 18 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Silent Wind of Doom:: Just asking, but how do you create those uniform templates? Do you use some program? -- The Pancakeof Heaven! 11:38, 5 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
@The Pancake of Heaven: Nothing special. It's just MSPaint. References are brought in to use as color swatches and, of course, as reference when drawing. All the images have a black outline template that can be used for everything. The Silent Wind of Doom (talk) 14:51, 19 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

I just want to add that the Penguins made the playoffs, defeated the flyers in six games, and lost to the Washington Capitals in six games. Could you please add that? Please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:401:C400:357:D09F:8F5B:552:CFD7 (talk) 20:19, 8 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

I've waited long enough. Could you update the History section by adding that this recent season, they lost Fleury and made the playoffs. During the playoffs they defeated the flyers in six games, and then lost to the capitals in six games. Could you please add these facts to update the section? Please.

Could you please update the bottom of the page? I heard that the Washington Capitals won the Stanley Cup last night(June 7, 2018). Could you please update the bottom of the page? Please. 2602:304:5D4E:5E49:9DF7:520A:5CC9:BFE9 (talk) 17:30, 8 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

No. That is irrelevant to the Penguins history. dannymusiceditor oops 17:43, 8 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Done. Um, actually it is relevant, as the succession box still said the Penguins were the current Cup champions. They've now been succeeded by the Capitals, so I have updated that. Thanks to the original IP editor for catching this. Echoedmyron (talk) 18:01, 8 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Not done I reverted that prior edit. There is a consensus with WP:HOCKEY for all non-player North American hockey pages to not apply diacritics in names. If you wish to pursue the issue/dispute the established consensus, I'd suggest taking it up at WT:HOCKEY. Leventio (talk) 09:17, 2 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Can you please change "Alt" section of jerseys. Pittsburgh no longer wears the yellow alternate jersey. The Penguins now wear a diagonal scripted "Pittsburgh" jersey as an alternate and a black helmet.
