German for curly?
editWhat sort of last name is Krause? 66.41.66.213 06:12, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
- And is it really pronounced to rhyme with "grocer", as the phonetic transcription says? Do we have a reliable source for that? Other websites seem to say it rhymes with "wowser" which seems more like what you might expect. Flapdragon 03:04, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'd like to know the official pronunciation too, I pronounce it as though he was German, and it sounds wrong to me every time. Are there any instances of Peter saying his own name? interviews or anything?--NeF 00:55, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. I'm from Germany and we pronounce Krause like "c(r)ow-the" [COW with an R behind the C and THE]. 95.90.145.66 (talk) 10:32, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
- It's a very common German name, it means "crimp", "frill", "gather", "quilling" or "ruff". When you pronounce it correctly, it does rhyme with "wowser; the "c(r)ow-the" version is misleading (but keep in mind that most Germans cannot pronounce the English "th" correctly).Sam Golden (talk) 15:36, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
Sentence I Removed
editFor some reason it will not allow me to place the sentence "His parents were teachers." in the early life section. I removed it from Personal Life because this information usually appears in Early Life. Jasynnash2 (talk) 14:00, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
