Origins of name

edit

I know she isn't given a name in the orignal cartoons. If anyone knows where the name Penelope was first mentioned, this should be added. Daibhid C 23:18, 30 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

The name was first mentioned in "The Cat's-Bah". It was eventually canonized by "Carrotblanca" in the 90's. --Spengs 01:17, 16 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Why the assumption that all the black cats are the same character? This is clearly incorrect. Fabrette, Fifi, Penelope and the others are different cats as made obvious by their lack of recognition, different personalitioes and reaction to Pepe and different locations and owners. Pepe is a romantic and pursues several females, trying to lump all his targets into a single characterr pretty much screws the concepts of the stories and of Pepe as a character. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.192.25.252 (talk) 20:22, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Why was she listed as a skunk?

edit

I just removed the fictional skunk category from this page, but I'm not sure why it was added in the first place. Penelope is not and never was a skunk, she just painted a white stripe on her back (reasons may vary), whatever the reason was it worked...until you know who shows up. Garfield And Friends character

edit

Penelope Pussycat was also the name of Garfield's girlfriend in Garfield and Friends. Should this at least be noted? Misteryoshi

Fair use rationale for Image:Penelope2.jpg

edit

Image:Penelope2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

File:Penelope Pussycat.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

edit
An image used in this article, File:Penelope Pussycat.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Other speedy deletions
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

To take part in any discussion, or to review a more detailed deletion rationale please visit the relevant image page (File:Penelope Pussycat.jpg)

This is Bot placed notification, another user has nominated/tagged the image --CommonsNotificationBot (talk) 23:44, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Image transparency

edit

Could someone fix the transparency issue with the infobox image for Penelope? I’ve noticed that the white parts of her body are transparent and some parts of the background are not. If you don’t believe me, then look more closely. 24.5.134.73 (talk) 02:56, 10 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
