Did his daughter marry Balboa?

This article is unclear about whether Balboa ever married Pedrarias's daughter Maria de Penalosa. It says Balboa was "never a son in law" of Pedrarias. It also says that Maria was "a widow, of frustrated marriage to Vasco Núñez de Balboa because of his execution." Finally, it says that she later "remarried in 1524." This article needs to decide whether they were actually married or not or, if the situation is unclear, to explain that better.
