High levels of fluid extraction may result with stroke like symptoms. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.198.83.151 (talk) 02:10, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

The article describes paracentesis as a procedure in "which the peritoneal cavity is punctured by a needle to sample peritoneal fluid". The article also mentions tympanic and occular punctures as if they are also paracentesis. My knowledge of physiology is not strong, but I'm pretty sure the ears and the eyes are not in the peritoneal cavity.

Earlier versions describe P more generally as puncturing for diagnostic purposes. Perhaps this article needs to revert to a more general wording. 134.187.163.211 (talk) 18:28, 16 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is associated with prolonged stay and more trouble. But I wonder if all confounders were elimitated. JFW | T@lk 21:20, 12 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Where did you find that? I would assume it to be the other way around. --WS (talk) 08:37, 19 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
