Date format

The all-numerical date format being used for the individual entries in the "Operation timeline" is not something in accordance with MOS:DATEFORMAT. If would be much better to list the dates either using the "date month" format (e.g. 13 November) or the "month date" format (e.g. November 13). Ranges of dates can be listed as per MOS:DATERANGE. Moreover, each of these sections should then be formatted as a bullet list if that's the intent, but it would be much better to write out the list a WP:PROSE instead. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:53, 13 November 2019 (UTC)

Prose and weasel words

This article needs to be written in flowing prose, not as a list of events on a given date. Also, the use of the weasel word "neutralised" as a euphemism for killing or wounding is not ok. A lot of this is very one-sided and currently reads like excerpts from Turkish press releases. It desperately needs Kurdish and international sources. Northern Iraq

The article mentions "Northern Iraq" quite a bit and contains a few wikilinks for it which redirect to Iraqi Kurdistan. Is "Northern Iraq" the official recognized name of the region? If it is, then both the "n" and "i" should be capitalized since it would be a proper noun. If, however, it just indicates the location of the region, then only the "i" and not the "n" should not be capitalized since "northern" would just a common noun. If the term is referring to anything other than the geographic location of the region, then the "n" should most likely be capitalized; for example, Northern-Iraq culture, Northern-Iraq government. Even if "Iraqi Kurdistan" is a proper noun, but "Northern Iraq" is not, the link should probably use a lower-case "n". -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:37, 27 November 2019 (UTC)

Marchjuly, I agree and will change the use of 'Northern Iraq' to Kurdistan Region since that's the actual name of the autonomous region (in Northern Iraq). --Semsûrî (talk) 15:03, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

Iraqi Kurdistan is better, as Sinjar and Makhmur are in it even though they're outside the KRG. Konli17 (talk) 00:30, 24 June 2020 (UTC)

Operation Paw

Reference is made to an "Operation Paw" or "Paw-3" a couple of times in the article. Anyone know if this is a separate operation from Operation Claw, or if it's just a typo? -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:54, 27 November 2019 (UTC)

Over reliance on TSKMap Twitter

Much of the article seems to be basically a reposting of the TSKMap Twitter feed. I don't understand Turkish, but is this even a WP:RS? Is it something controlled by the Turkish government/military? All reliable sources are somewhat WP:BIASED in some way, but I'm not sure a Wikipedia article should just be posting a re-cap of claims made one of the major participants in this operation. -- Marchjuly (talk) 23:18, 27 November 2019 (UTC)

I have also noticed just this and also that none of the tweets I double-checked are even available anymore. I double checked probably 7-8 tweets. Lets give the editor some time to find new sources for the tweets before adapting the info ourselves.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 03:21, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
