President of the Ninety-nines
editIt is sometimes claimed that Kunz was a president of the Ninety-Nines. The Ninety-Nines' own website does not support this claim, though she was a charter member; see this page of the past presidents and this of the charter members.Alafarge (talk) 23:14, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
Travel Air?
editWhat was her "300 hp Travel Air"?
Travel Airs weren't usually that powerful. Presumably that's a Wright Whirlwind engine, which was only fitted to either a handful of the Speedwing biplanes, or else the later and larger monoplane. Do we know which? Andy Dingley (talk) 11:45, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
Year of birth
editThe "Personal history" section says Kunz was born in "1894 or 1896" (Reference #1 explains that although her Social Security record indicates she was born in 1894, her burial record indicates she was born in 1896) and the article is in both Category:1894 births and Category:1896 births. But the lead and infobox both give her year of birth as just 1894. Should the lead and infobox also say "1894 or 1896"? DH85868993 (talk) 03:37, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
- The "reference" supporting 1896 as her year of birth was actually just an unsourced footnote, which has since been removed. I found several (reliable?) sources giving her birth year as 1894, including [1] and [2]. The only source I found stating 1896 was findagrave.com, which is considered as an unreliable source and ironically contains an image of a memorial stone(?), which gives her year of birth as 1894. Accordingly, I have updated the article to specify 1894 (only) as her year of birth. DH85868993 (talk) 10:17, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
