editAccording to Island Def Jam, the song will receive a limited promotional release and not an official commercial single release in the United States. Chairman and CEO of Island Def Jam Music Group LA Reid also added that the song is just a "buzz single" and will not receive a worldwide single release.[1] Carey's husband Nick Cannon confirmed via his Twitter that the music video is to be shot on October 6, 2010, in their house in Los Angeles, but has denied rumors that he is directing the video.[2] [3] Jonas Åkerlund will direct the video which will portray Carey as Mimi Show, a Fountain Valley High School cheerleader, and husband Nick Cannon will be featured as Saint Nick, a character lead singer of a fictional band named Saint Nick and the Lambs, which Carey's character is a huge fan of. Carey's mother Patricia will also make a cameo appearance as Luscious Pink, a fairy godmother.[4] The music video is over seven minutes long, and will feature Carey's version of "O Come All Ye Faithful/Hallelujah Chorus" with a children's choir in the beginning. According to Åkerlund, the whole concept is based on two themes: The Beatles' landmark appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show on February 9, 1964, and Toni Basil's "Mickey". The same exact two concepts were also used by hip-hop group Outkast for their music video for "Hey Ya!" in 2004, and Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" music video in 2005, respectively. Its official premiere will be on October 16, 2010, in Carey's official fan club online, and Nick Cannon will be hosting the countdown to the premiere in the official live web streaming.[5]

Finally
editIm so pleased this page has FINALLY been opened after 2 months, but whoever has done this page has made such a hash of it! There is a lot more info that could be added.calvin999 (talk) 20:46, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
- Please don't say "FINALLY" like the page should have been opened before. There are rules, if you don't like them, why are you here? Jayy008 (talk) 21:28, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
- Well, i did. This should have been opened ages ago, we had all the info. calvin999 (talk) 21:39, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
- The rules verge on the ridiculous, Oh Santa was credible enough by most people's standards to warrant it's own pages ages ago. Oh, well. At least now we can turn this page into something worthy of one of the hottest original Christmas tracks this decade. CyanIsland (talk) 23:12, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

- Then why are you here if you don't like Wikipedia's rules? "most people's standards," isn't valid. The song needed a notable chart for a start. Jayy008 (talk) 14:40, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- I'm here because Wikipedia isn't a dictatorship and users are allowed opinions different to your own. Sorry.CyanIsland (talk) 02:44, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
- Indeed, but Calvin and your opinions hardly = "by most people's standards". Either way, the article exits now and since your one of the users who moaned about it, why haven't you done your best in editing it to make it better? Jayy008 (talk) 18:09, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
- Because whenever do i something, it gets reverted, so i don't bother. but as you have proposed it, i will add a promotion section. calvin999 (talk) 20:13, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
