The Marching Band??
editI'm getting rid of the Marching Band section. Feel free to revert if you're willing to improve it, but as it is it has no place in an encyclopedia. Xcm 20:07, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
- why not? an encyclopedia tells facts; its not as if the marching band is a fake, or that we're trying to advertise anything. We're just stating facts.
An encyclopedia is not just about "facts" -- entries also must pass a certain "noteworthiness" bar. And as every small town in the world has a marching band (or two, or six), I am removing this gratuitous entry. I am also removing the pointless "shout out" lines from this talk page. --Shannonr 11:35, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- That's false, not every small town in the world has a marching band. I use to live in a city with no marching band at all. Besides, I don't know what's wrong with posting information about something - yes, it may not be as significant as others, but it's still farily useful. Many of the places listed under "points of interest" are insignificant, but I dont see anything done about them. Delta[XK] 21:15, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
- Please check large city entries, like Chicago, Illinois or town entries, like Terre Haute, Indiana for examples of how to correctly "fill out" this page. --Shannonr 00:26, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Education
editI'm going to remove the education section. It's largely unsubstantiated and it feels a bit like promoting the town's image. I know the place well, and believe me, the education isn't as top notch as it proclaims. Delta 14:47, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Kate Traverso?
editFrom NA, never heard of her. Most likely one of the local actors or high school drama guild members got a bit carried away. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.232.147.166 (talk) 16:25, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
