"Also known as"

edit

Ok I understand these vehicles may be known by a different name by every dept in the world but I don't see the point in listing them all. The article title is a sufficient enough generic term, do we really need 12 AKAs? This article is about the vehicle, not all the obscure synonyms for it. Proposed name change

edit

"Ambulance emergency response vehicle" sounds like an ambulance that responds to emergencies, (as opposed to, for instance, an ambulance that transports patients between facilities on a non-emergent basis). How about "Nontransporting EMS vehicle", or something similar? --Badger151 (talk) 01:49, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Two weeks having passed, with no objections being raised, I've made the move. --Badger151 (talk) 00:10, 9 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Purpose section suggestion

edit

When I worked in EMS, the primary reason you got assigned to a fly-car was because there was no partner available for you to operate an ambulance with. I guess this would fall under something like maximizing staff on duty during a shift or something similar. But generally, if everyone on a shift had a partner no one was in the fly-car; it was strictly a duty assignment when your partner wasn't working. Thoughts? It no doubt varies wildly by location. In the case of the UK, single responders are specifically deployed because they can often get to a patient quicker than a full-size ambulance. This applies to bicycle and motorcycle responders in London. Nick Cooper (talk) 17:24, 18 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
