Men's cross-country

edit

@Ionel141: I see you added on 8 April 2015 that Anton Cooper will take the one male quota place in MTB for New Zealand. I've just expanded his bio, and as of now (25 April 2016, i.e. one year later), Cycling New Zealand have not picked their male representative. Would you mind adding references to your contributions, please? It seems you must have got the wrong end of the stick somewhere. Schwede66 21:11, 24 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Non-selections

edit

This article is for selected athletes, what is the point of mentioning those not selected? DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 04:45, 6 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

If athletes have been discussed in reliable sources, for example because there was a long process before a choice was made between candidates of (almost) equal ability, then that is most certainly within the scope of this article. For example, Sam Gaze versus Anton Cooper was discussed by the media for at least 18 months prior to the NOC making the decision. Schwede66 06:15, 7 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Olympic reporting

edit

Question on scope: where would we record the media stoush over reporting rights in New Zealand? This article? Elsewhere? Schwede66 09:36, 21 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

I've had a go at documenting this. Amendments and changes are of course welcome. Schwede66 10:05, 1 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
