Picture removal
editI removed a picture of dubious origin from the main page as the only soldier with any discernible insignia was wearing the patch of the 42nd Infantry Division, as in the New York National Guard not the State GuardRastov (talk) 20:53, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Uniforms
editHere is a link to a discussion on the NY Guard uniforms which was started elsewhere. User talk:67.84.98.124#1 --Cjs56 (talk) 01:34, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
As unarmed volunteers is there really an overwhelming need for combat uniforms? Of course there should be a strict differentiation between State Guard Uniforms and National Guard Uniforms as National Guardsman need to wear them in combat situations while State Guardsman can wear anything while directing traffic at sporting events. - I was thinking of getting cute by linking caste but it really looks overblown to devote more than a sentence or two to this question. The sentence could end with something like "...and is resented". No need for a whole paragraph that whines about unfairness and speculates about consequences, much less a section. Meanwhile what is missing is a head count. Jim.henderson (talk) 15:21, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Assistance with Editing
editThis page is terribly outdated and attempts to edit the page to include relevant accurate information are being continuously taken down in favor of the same outdated information. Can someone assist us with updating the information so that it does not get taken down by overzealous editors? CPT Rooster (talk) 02:57, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
- Editors, please see the editor's talk page. If you can better explain to the editor that they need to disclose their COI and use secondary sources, please do so. Graham87, are you still up? ;) Drmies (talk) 12:50, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Drmies: I'm back now. Might it be a good idea to get military people history people involved in this article? Graham87 (talk) 14:51, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
- Can anyone help with editing content? Peer reviewed articles are somehow being given priority over official documents that would never be published as they are internal orders, personnel trackers, and historical records mai tainted by internal personnel such as public affairs officers and archivists. 2601:184:C401:37C0:71B5:FADA:B46A:298B (talk) 02:55, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
