Area of New Braunfels in 2005?
editI updated the population information with the 2005 census estimate, but I couldn't find a more current figure for the area (square miles or square km) of the city. With all the growth in New Braunfels in the last five years, I'd guess that some land has been annexed, but I don't know that for sure. If anyone has a more current figure, please update the infobox and recalculate the density figures. Thanks! JFreeman 19:14, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Famous citizens
editCould someone that knows how to edit this page put a "Famous citizens" section? Matt Slocum and Leigh Bingham Nash of Sixpence None the Richer, and astronaut Charles M. Duke are a few to put on the list. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jwalske (talk • contribs) 20:50, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
At that time, the community was called "Goodwin", and the Post Office was located in side the Gruene store. The office was discontinued when a rural New Braunfels route began covering that area.70.196.23.37 (talk) 02:03, 30 December 2009 (UTC)poconnell
Post Office or no Post Office in Gruene, TX
editThe New Braunfels page states there was once a post office in Gruene, TX, but the Gruene, TX page states there never was post office located in town. Which is it?

Fix the spelling error on NBISD. I would also like to add information about the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch and the programs there that bring in tourism to the tourism section. Thanks.

- Not done for now: Can you be more specific about the spelling error that needs to be fixed? Also, which information would you like added? Make sure you provide a reliable source to support your addition. Topher385 (talk) 00:28, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
History wrong
editIn March of 1845 Prince Solms was in San Antonio, he had been in America for about 8 month and had just returned from Indianola where he met the first group of German immigrants. They were starting there long trek along the Guadalupe River to the already purchased Fisher Miller Grant. A huge tract of land around the Llano and San Saba rivers in the heart of the hill County. But there was a problem, this plan would not work!. It was too far away, inhabited by hostile Comanche Indians, and in the difficult to cross hill country, IT WOULD TAKE TOO LONG. A tense Prince Solms was desperately looking for a way point to set up a community when he spotted a familiar friendly face, Texas Ranger Johann Jacob Rahm, a Swiss man of great character under the command of Jack Hays. He had met Rahm in August of 1844 in Port Lavaca, where Henry Castro was melting and in the process of abandoning his German settlers headed for Castroville. Rahm had great compassion, and with the blessing of his Commander Jack Hays, he provided support, time and money out of his own pocket to help the stranded poor German settlers. This compassion resonated with Prince Solms, who was appalled by what he saw, and later gave Rahm a special German gun along with 4.5 acres of land in New Braunfels in appreciation for his humanitarian efforts. Now back in San Antonio an anxous Prince Solms shared his problem with Johann Jacob Rahm and Rahm told him of “ La Fontana” , a place north east of San Antonio, a beautiful, quiet. peaceful place between two rivers with a bubbling spring of abundant, clean, good water. He knew the area well for he had spent some time with the local Indians who captured him while on a scouting expedition. It had everything Prince Solms needed,¬ abundant water, fertile land and location, location, location. It was about half way to the Fisher Miller Grant at the precipice of the hill country. Sight unseen Prince Solms immediately purchased the 1265 Acres tract from the heirs of Juan Veramendi . 6 days later the beleaguered settlers slugged across the Guadalupe for the last time to occupy the land they would call home, La Fontana (the fountain),the city of New Braunfels . — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.243.21.201 (talk) 08:27, 30 July 2017 (UTC)

New Braunfels, Texas → New Braunfels – There is no need for the "Texas" disambiguator as there are no other "New Braunfels". Walter Görlitz (talk) 16:29, 16 October 2020 (UTC)

- Yes USPLACE says it should include the state, although I personally am skeptical of the preemptive adding of the state at USPLACE but it is common usage. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:49, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
