Some occupations in this list seeem odd in that they do not reflect what the people are known as now - surely Dahlan should be 'founder of ...? SatuSuro 13:22, 8 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please change them. I made the list and tried to add some information on those who did not have pages, but I may have misunderstood or mistranslated information I gathered from pages in Dutch or Indonesian. Rigadoun (talk) 16:50, 8 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I'm going to try to write some English-language entries on the people mentioned herein. Not immediately, though; something I'm planning for the future. RahadyanS 16:27, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I removed the cleanup tag. I don't think we need any cleanup there. Peace. --Nielswik(talk) 15:48, 20 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Clean up

edit

I'm in the process of compiling an up-to-date and referenced list of Pahlawan Nasional. I have a number of books, but it is difficult to find recent lists. The main http://www.tokohindonesia.com/pemuka/pahlawan/index.shtml reference is more up to date than my printed sources, but I have found another site http://www.kalteng.go.id/INDO/Pahlawan.htm that has more. I also plan to reshuffle the alphabetical order based on how people are commonly referred to (eg Ngurah Rai, I Gusti rather than I Gusti Ngurah Rai and Kartini, Raden Ayu rather than Raden Ayu Kartini) to make it easier to find people in the list. I am aware there is a danger of subjectivity here, so please post any comments or suggestions. Davidelit (talk) 15:17, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good. It really needs work. --Merbabu (talk) 03:25, 9 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cleaned Up

edit

I have made some dramatic changes to this page as follows

Cross-checked all names against printed sources (phew!)
Checked later names against website (which is in agreement with my printed sources on pre-1996 details)
Added fact tags to claims of recent heroic status I was unable to find references to, eg Rizal Nurdin

My aim was to make the article non-POV by removing people on the list because they "are widely seen as a national hero" or other such claim. This means that even Abdul Haris Nasution had to go, much to my surprise. Davidelit (talk) 15:08, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am continuing to add details to the names on this list. I am considering removing uncited names once I'm done. Any objections anyone? Davidelit (talk) 17:48, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for all the good work. I suppose if you can't find corroboration that they were an official National Hero then they should not be here. On ones that have articles, you may want to see if there is a citation there. Better than deleting, though, unless you're reasonably sure they aren't, may be to put them in <!---comment brackets---> as that way they can be added more easily if a source can be found. You may also want to clean up the category Category:National Heroes of Indonesia to reflect the documentation here. Thanks! Rigadoun (talk) 19:29, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Honorifics

edit

Please not in accordance with WP EN policies and practices - usage of honorifics in titles of articles (Sri Paduka etc) is discouraged - it most cases the article itself will have alternative titles - there is no need to add them to the titles here in this list SatuSuro 05:56, 24 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

better source material

edit

Tokoh Indonesia is Gramedia sh!t. I have added far better references, including government site. I will also add (f) and (m) for non Indonesians to easily distinguish between often confusing names- and highlight also the commendable role of women in Indonesia's history and struggle (thus dispel anti Muslim diatribe)Starstylers (talk) 17:04, 29 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Saran saya

edit

Mengingat Oevaang Oeray dan Djeranding Abdurrahman diwacanakan dicalonkan menjadi pahlawan nasional, maka saran sy bung Kris masukkan saja bagian "Yang dicalonkan menjadi pahlawan nasional" di artikel kakak. Kakak bisa? Sebab sy tak pandai bhs. Inggris. --Akbar ini dari Kalbar 07:31, 3 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Mongisidi instead of Monginsidi

edit

Based on https://www.worldcat.org/identities/lccn-n82106969/, https://viaf.org/viaf/75201950/#Mongisidi,_Robert_Wolter,_1925-1949, and http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n82106969.html, the correct spelling of the last name is MONGISIDI (without the 'N' after the first 'I'). Ampera Heroes

edit

Will this list include the Ampera Heroes (Pahlawan Ampera)? The Indonesian government never created an official list or whoever should or should not be in the list, though the thirteen individuals who were widely considered to be Ampera Heroes existed in various websites. CaptainHitaDeck (talk) 08:46, 1 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Super late response: What I know is that since the names of the Ampera Heroes are not constitutionally recognized (yet), they are not included. Dhio (talk?) 15:30, 8 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
