Hey there! I saw that you changed the short description for the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission page. I've reverted your edit as it seems to suggest that the NDIS Commission regulates all services in Australia, which isn't quite true - not all social care services are NDIS-eligible, and the Commission only regulates the (small) category that are and only when they're involved in NDIS-funded care. I've also reverted your edit calling the Commission an agency - the NDIS Commission is lead by a Commissioner, not a Director-General. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions etc 😊 Tim (Talk to me) 12:27, 28 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
@GhostInTheMachine - Just wanted to reach out again and make sure that you saw this message. I saw that you reinstated the old short description describing the NDIS Commission as an agency. I've reverted it as per this discussion and also as you didn't include any edit message. I would love to have a chat with you to discuss the material instead of us risking ending up edit warring, so feel free to reply here (making sure to {{Ping}} me), shoot me a message on my talk page, or create a section on the article talk page. I edited the article, because the Short description Commission overseeing the quality and safety of services provided by the National Disability Insurance Scheme in Australia was 122 characters long and so the article was being flagged in an error tracking category.
→ WP:SDSHORT says that a Short description should be short and
→ WP:SDNOTDEF says that a Short description should not attempt to define the article's subject.
— My first fix was to Agency overseeing services in Australia which is short enough, but does perhaps imply that the Commission regulates all services in Australia.
— My second fix was to Independent agency in Australia which was shorter and used in Australia rather than overseeing services in Australia, which would be technically more correct.
I based the use of agency on the hatnote (which reads the agency overseeing ...), the infobox (which has a heading Agency overview) and the lead (which at that point stated ... is an independent agency ...)
WP:SDCONTENT discourages repeating Commission in the short description, so, if agency is incorrect, it would probably be better to use statuary body as implied by the lead independent commission linking to statutory body)
How about a SD of Statuary body in Australia which is short and not incorrect — GhostInTheMachinetalk to me11:08, 3 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
