Astronauts of this Group Assigned to Missions:
editAs at May 8, 2018 five members of this group have been assigned to future missions and yet this does not seem to be reflected in the article even though it has been updated recently (early April 2018). Time permitting, I will try to do the necessary update if some other editor does not beat me to it. Abul Bakhtiar (talk) 17:48, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
Candidates vs Group Members
edit@Banana Republic:, thanks for updating the "Candidates" to "Group Members", that's probably been there since the page was created years ago and I don't know how many times I've looked at this page and never noticed that it was out of date. From your comment, I'm going to assume (and forgive me if I'm wrong) that you don't know the significance of the word "candidate" in this context. When someone is going through the process to get selected, they are applicants. At some point, when NASA picks the final group of people who they will invite to become astronauts, they become "Astronaut Candidates" (or ASCANs). They are ASCANs until the group completes all their training and they "graduate" to being full-fledged Astronauts who are eligible to be assigned to a mission. In this context, that's what "candidate" refers to, not how many were considered for the final slot. --Wizardimps (talk) 22:46, 3 July 2019 (UTC)
- I will certainly plead ignorance to not knowing internal NASA jargon. But regardless, sounds like the word "candidates" is not the appropriate word. Banana Republic (talk) 01:13, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
- You're right, "candidates" is not the appropriate word now, though it was from back in 2013 when they were chosen up through 2015 when they graduated. Thanks! --Wizardimps (talk) 02:41, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
Balls
edit"'Eight Balls' in reference to there being eight of them" And not a reference to there being four men? Really? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:44, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
