Hamlet, Village or Small Town
editOh, come on. If Mumbles is a village, nowhere would be big enough to qualify as a city. It's more than large enough to be a town, with plenty of shops and many houses. [213.105.224.14]
Fire at The Mermaid
editCurrently the article mentions that "Famous poet Dylan Thomas was said to have enjoyed many hours at The Mermaid, now a restaurant and coffee lounge." - Sadly the Mermaid that Dylan Thomas frequented was badly damaged by fire circa 1997 and by 1999 had been demolished. The restaurant and coffee lounge is on the same site, but significantly different. I used to work the bar at The Mermaid but had left for Uni by then so if anyone can improve on the dates and details please do. --Ear1grey 12:43, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
In the Media
editPerhaps a section describing times when Mumbles has been recorded in popular media would be useful? Obvious things that spring to mind are Ennels Point and the coffin scene in Twin Town, but there must be more... --Ear1grey 12:43, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
The Mumbles Mile
editThe Mile really deserves a section of it's own, with a little detail and an explanation of why it became well known and how it's changed since it's initial infamy. The closure of two of the four mumbles nightclubs (Neptunes & Secrets (later named Barberellas)), the conversion of the Prince of Wales, and probably several other factors have all played a part as Mumbles nightlife has evolved. --Ear1grey 12:50, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Info Added to History Section
editI've added some info on the previously "development" title of the article which I've now changed to "history". Hope everything's fine. (Cepb 21:27, 7 July 2007 (UTC))
Catherine Zeta Jones
editShe grew up living in the Mayals, and went to school in Swansea. That is not Mumbles. 78.145.186.41 (talk) 12:07, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
