weren't they called moon boots? or are moon boots and moon shoes different.75.163.17.192 (talk) 00:54, 2 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I remember an episode from the children's TV show named Arthur featuring Moon Boots. I don't think there were ever any real Moon Boots; Moon Shoes seem to be the only product out there. I'm pretty sure Moon Boots was an invention in the Arthur world... --Silentrebel (talk) 19:12, 16 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Satellite Jumping Shoes appear to be the original

edit

Both Moon shoes and Kangoo Jumps appear to be predated by Satellite Jumping Shoes [1] in the mid 50's. I believe a kid wearing a pair appeared in the film Back to the Future when Marty McFly first arrives in the Hill Valley town square. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.254.86.151 (talk) 03:26, 28 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks; I have inserted a Satellite mention but with a different link. Arthur's Moon Boots are indeed a fictional version. Moon boots seem to be genuine mechandise, though not known to offer a suggestion of jumping power. Jim.henderson (talk) 00:30, 31 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, the 1970s date is wrong. 1950s or at least 1960s here's a reference from 1960. http://classictoymuseum.blogspot.com/2010/01/rocket-shoes-knock-off-of-moon-shoes.html heck, it even says knock off... so... probably the originals were 1950... and this references a knock-off version.. Centerone (talk) 04:37, 29 October 2014 (UTC) I think I'm going to change the date on the article. However, someone else should come up with a better reference.
