His death was on February 1, 2015, not 2014. Under the death column. 128.193.152.167 (talk) 19:09, 2 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Marriage to Sheena?

edit

Obviously they kept it pretty quiet, but does anybody actually know when they got married? At least the year of it. It should probably be mentioned in the body of the article somewhere, not just the infobox, but it should be more than just "sometime in the past five years, he got married", y'know? Fletch the Mighty (talk) 19:37, 2 February 2015 (UTC) According to Burnie Burns during the Feb 2 2015 rooster teeth podcast he was married within the past year so it should be sometime in 2014.Reply

he died today 2/2/15

Please change his wedding date from May 9, 2014 to May 10, 2014. The source already linked says that the 9th was the day before they were married, not the day of their wedding. DylanJ97 (talk) 10:44, 8 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Cited line

"Previous to the conclusion of season 10 of Red vs. Blue, Oum had pitched an idea for a series of his own; anxious to see the production deadline for Red vs. Blue met, Burns told Oum that if he could complete work on season 10 of Red vs. Blue on schedule, Oum would be given the opportunity to make his series." - Burnie said this on a podcast but it hasn't been repeated since which suggests it was a joke was not part of the approval process. I'd recommend killing this line -- Forgottenlord (talk) 13:58, 19 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Found and edited in a citation (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0rdAi_nleA#t=13m08s) about Monty telling this same story. He seemed influenced by the proposal to take making his own show seriously, however jokingly the proposal stared, so I recommend keeping it. TikorDuro (talk) 23:41, 13 March 2017 (EST)

Young female demographic

edit

I found anecdotal evidence for a young demongraphic (http://roosterteeth.com/post/51193367) from the primary source, but I have yet to find evidence of a young female demographic, or a more analytical breakdown than 'Kids talk to me about this show all the time'. By happenstance I came across this article but noted some of the citations have gone dead. I did my own search for the original content and found the rewritten URL structure.

I was hesitant at first (due to my inexperience with editing Wikipedia) but saw that quite a few references have been affected as a result of their website update.

I don't really know what I'm doing (i.e. should I change the access date? I don't know what the original looked like, etc), so if someone more experienced could please align my corrections with the community expectations that would be greatly appreciated.

Page vandalism

edit

It appears that Burner224 is attempting to vandalize the page in these two edits: - https://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=Monty_Oum&oldid=861516372 - https://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=Monty_Oum&oldid=861516334

Vandalism encompasses completely rewriting dates of Oum's death, marriage, tribute videos, and clearly breaks working links, all with no citation. Burner224 then proceeded to allege that the studio Oum was working for - at the time of this proposed, completely un-cited death (2012) - actively engaged in a conspiracy along with Oum's wife to "cover up" the death for monetary and PR reasons.

The only possible motive I can imagine that would incite someone to do this would be if they were trying to fraudulently refute legitimate donations that were made to the GoFundMe page set up for Oum's medical costs, by attempting to claim that the donation page was illegitimate, and pointing to a (vandalized) wikipedia page as proof.

Oum was well-known throughout the gaming community and met with many individuals in-person and in public at conventions like PAX East after the supposed time of death (2012).

I reverted these edits and I would like this page to be protected unless/until someone can provide any sort of reasonable, trustworthy citation to back this conspiracy theory.

I apologize in advance if any of my formatting is incorrect, I'm not a wikipedia editor, just a person outraged at this obvious vandalism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.36.63.8 (talk) 01:58, 28 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Update: it appears that Burner224 was banned, although now Shinchin32 is making the exact same plagiarism edits that Burner224 did. Someone is attempting to vandalize this page repeatedly and it needs to be protected for this reason. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.36.63.8 (talk) 03:38, 28 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
