Anachronism

edit

Currently the lead paragraph reads "The Ministry of Education Mandarin Chinese Dictionary refers to official dictionaries of Mandarin Chinese, specifically Taiwanese Mandarin, issued and edited by the Ministry of Education (Taiwan)." Given that the first edition was published in 1926 in Beiping (with later editions published in Beiping 1936, and again in Changsha 1947), surely the lead sentence seems somewhat nonsensical? It would make more sense to rephrase it that, after a certain date, the dictionary gained newfound focus towards Taiwanese Mandarin. --benlisquareTCE 03:50, 2 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
