As per the 'Requested Article' list at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/South American military history task force, I've taken a stab at producing an article on the Military History of South America. Having finished this draft, I sort of wonder whether or not a thematic structure might have been better, but anyway... A couple of thoughts on the draft. Firstly, it's slightly too long, and probably needs editing down a little further. Secondly, I'm pretty certain that given the span of the topic, there'll be some errors in it - apologies in advance if I've inadvertedly mangled your favourite period of South American history - not to mention probable typos. Anyway, it's a first draft at least! Hchc2009 (talk) 18:53, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

A good start. Here are some suggestions for improvement, there are still sections that lack any in-line referencing (this will preclude B-class), and in the 20th century, there is not much mention of the maritime aspects, especially the naval arms race between Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. Suggested reading for this:   Brazilian battleship Minas Geraes,   Brazilian battleship São Paulo, and   ARA Rivadavia. -MBK004 16:47, 10 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
